Mineral Makeup Ingredients
Our mineral makeup does not contain Talc, Bismuth Oxychloride or any chemicals, dyes or preservatives.
It is made using all natural ingredients that are kind and soothing to your skin to help protect it from the environment.
We don't use nano-sized ingredients or Carmine in any of our products, our makeup is suitable for vegetarians and not harmful to animals or the environment.
Here is a brief description of the beneficial properties to your skin in the main ingredients that we use to make our mineral makeup:
Titanium Dioxide: This is a great natural sun block due to it’s very high refractive index and its resistance to discolouration under ultraviolet light.
This advantage enhances its stability and ability to protect the skin from ultraviolet light making it a great skin protector.
Zinc Oxide: Also used in all our foundations and is a wonderful product which protects your skin from aging and cancer caused by UVA ray light. It has also been recognized as a mild antimicrobial and wound healing agent, making this a super ingredient for calming and healing acne prone, sunburnt or irritated skin.
Zinc oxide has been studied as a treatment for cold sores and appears to shorten their duration.
Serecite Mica: This ingredient is used for it’s light reflecting qualities and ability to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and fine lines.
Silica Microspheres: This is used in our Soft Focus range of mineral foundations and our concealers for it’s amazing light scattering and silky properties which reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and give you that gorgeous ‘soft focus’ look.
Kaolin Clay: We use this predominantly in our concealers and Soft Focus foundation range to combat oily skin. It is a great, natural product that absorbs moisture and reduces shine, giving you a lovely soft matt complexion.
Rice Powder: This is a wonderfully gentle oil absorber. The oil absorption in rice powder is slow so it won't strip dry skin of moisture. This gives your skin a porcelain, shine free finish and we use it in our mineral finishing powders, Illuminators and some eye shadows. Rice Powder is also used in ayurvedic remedies as a skin softener and emolient.
Boron Nitride: This is a soft, smooth and natural inert mineral that offers adhesion and a silky feel to our products. We use it in our eyeshadows and finishing powders to give all day staying power.
Allantoin: This ingredient is a skin protectant. It promotes healing, and is known for its skin regenerating and soothing properties. It stimulates the growth of healthy new skin and we use it in our Healing Mineral Foundation and our concealers.
